Suggestions? In case this matters, I'm using the latest MM beta as of this date, 4. MM seems to be a bit fancy there, though, and recognizes the difference between a removable device and network drive, even if it is mapped to a drive letter. There are other reasons to do this too - The receiver's DLNA client browsing is better if some of the tags are removed from the media files.īut how to manage the synchronization? The behavior I want is to have a network drive location that has auto-synchronization set up in MM exactly as if it were a removable USB drive. Sound quality is not the primary reason to use FLAC, at least for this threads purposes. Plan B is to simply keep a second copy of the library in a compatible format. We can argue about sound quality, but its an infamously fruitless internet argument due to subjectivity and the persons gear, room, ears, etc. This actually happens with other DLNA clients, such as Windows Media Player, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the receiver. It appears that the client times out before the file gets converted (pretty quickly, within a couple of seconds). Is it possible to convert FLAC files to ALAC files on the fly while transferring to Iphone I have tried to do this but can not find ALAC as an encoding option. However, I haven't gotten that to work in this case. It is useful when you want to save a particular song from a movie or a music video. Our app allows you to extract an audio track from a video. No problem, that appears to be what the Auto-Conversion configuration is for. Our converter works with over 300 different file formats including video formats, converting them to mp3, wav, m4a, flac, ogg, amr, mp2, and m4r (for iPhone ringtones). The catch is all of my music is kept in a lossless format that isn't compatible with the DLNA client. When converting from a lossy compression format there may be a loss in fidelity on. So converting a lossy MP3 to a lossless FLAC does not make the audio file a FLAC quality file. Conversion can never add quality to the converted file. I also have my library organized with MediaMonkey Gold (of course). With video files MediaMonkey cant choose which audio or subtitle tracks should be used for the converted file. Whether the volume of the Tracks should be leveled as they are encoded. See Ripping & Digital File Formats and MP3 Encoder Settings. The compression format to be used for ripping the Tracks. I've got a spiffy new home receiver that has the ability to browse and play from a DLNA server. Whether to replace the original files or convert the files to a new destination.
